Biomimetic Dentistry

We promote and believe in the principles of biomimetic dentistry.  Simply put, we believe that the true essence of restorative dentistry lies in the desire to return your tooth back to its most natural and beautiful state.  We seek to conserve tooth structure, believing that what you’re born with is usually better than anything man-made.  When compared to more traditional methods, biomimetic dentistry puts a premium on long lasting, conservative restorations that are derived from the biological principles of your natural teeth.

Teeth Cleaning Image
Teeth Cleaning
Professional teeth cleaning is beneficial to your overall oral and systemic health.  Cleanings involve a combination of electronic and manual instrumentation to remove the buildup of plaque and tartar on the teeth.  For some, root planing is necessary, which involves the cleaning of bacterial toxins and debris from the root surfaces and periodontal pockets.  The primary purpose of having your teeth cleaned is to prevent or delay the progression of gum disease and to maintain good oral health.
Onlays

Onlays are precision crafted tooth colored restorations made of a porcelain/ceramic material.  Onlays are bonded to the tooth to replace substantial portions of missing tooth structure.  This bonding process allows the tooth to be strengthened and return to a state of beauty and function.  Onlays are the restoration of choice when replacing large defects as they typically allow for greater tooth preservation.

Crowns

Also known as caps, crowns are custom made to fit over your teeth to hide misshaped, broken, or otherwise imperfect looking teeth.  Crowns are a great option for restoring strength and beauty to cracked, worn, and broken teeth, whether the result of teeth grinding, decay, age or improper bite.

Bridges

Bridges are an ideal treatment for those looking to replace missing teeth.  These custom restorations are made to bridge the gap between teeth by anchoring an artificial tooth between two dental crowns that are placed on either side of the gap.  Bridges allow you to speak normally, chew properly and smile with renewed confidence.

Tooth Colored Fillings Image
Tooth-Colored Fillings

Say goodbye to unattractive silver fillings.  At our practice, we use only tooth colored fillings for the restoration of teeth.  These fillings are constructed of a natural-looking composite resin material that is bonded directly to your teeth.  These fillings allow for the conservation of vital tooth structure and can also be used to enhance the appearance of your smile.  They closely match the existing shade and texture of your teeth to help restore form and function in a beautiful way.

NTI Therapy

Nightguards are used in dentistry to help prevent tooth wear and jaw joint problems. The NTI (Nocturnal Trigeminal Inhibition) device is a newer type of nightguard which has been approved by the FDA to help prevent migraine headaches. It is thought that up to 80% of people clench or grind their teeth while sleeping. The NTI nightguard is worn between your front teeth at night and prevents your jaw muscles from being stressed during sleep. Many patients report waking up feeling much better with fewer headaches, less jaw muscle and joint pain, and less long-term tooth wear.

Dentures/Partial Dentures
A complete denture is an appliance that is inserted in the mouth to replace all of your teeth in order to aid in chewing and support of the cheeks and lips. A partial denture, in contrast,  maintains several natural teeth, when possible, to aid in retention of the appliance.
Root Canals

Contrary to popular belief, root canals can be quite painless and relaxing!  Root canals are one of the most common dental procedures, performed over 14 million times a year.  A root canal systematically cleans out the collection of nerve tissue and tiny blood vessels in the pup and root canal system. This tissue, found near the center of the tooth and through the roots, can sometimes become infected and inflamed causing swelling and discomfort.

Dental Extraction Image
Extractions
Sometimes teeth will need to be extracted because of severe decay, advanced periodontal disease, poor positioning or a bad fracture. At the time of extraction, you will be numbed up and may feel pressure during the procedure but more often than not, most patients always say, “That wasn’t that bad at all!”
Implant Crowns

Dental implants are titanium anchors that are surgically placed into the jaw bone.  After the anchors have healed, usually in 3-6 months, Implant crowns and abutments, which is the portion of the tooth that sticks out above the gums, are then secured on top of the titanium implant itself.  The entire procedure usually takes 6-8 months. Most patients do not experience any disruptions in their daily life.
